Terms of sale and licence

Last updated: 16 October 2026

These terms apply when you buy a tool, course or service from The Chart Mechanics. Please read them before you buy. If you are a consumer, nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights.

1. Who we are

The Chart Mechanics is a trading name of Dan Reynolds, a sole trader based in the United Kingdom ("we", "us"). Contact: thechartmechanics@outlook.com or the contact form.

2. Who you buy from

Online orders are processed by our payment provider, which acts as the merchant of record. It sells the product to you, takes payment, and handles VAT, invoices and payment disputes; its own buyer terms also apply to the payment. We provide the product, the licence and support. The provider's name is shown at checkout and on your receipt.

3. Prices and orders

Prices are shown in pounds sterling and include any VAT that applies. Your contract is formed when your payment is confirmed. For tools, you must give the correct MetaTrader account number(s) and broker server at checkout; we build your licensed copy from those details.

4. Delivery

  • Courses are delivered by download link straight after payment.
  • Tools are built for your account numbers and emailed within 1 working day.
  • Custom builds are delivered on the date agreed in the written specification.

5. Your right to cancel

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 you normally have 14 days to cancel a contract for digital content. At checkout you will be asked to agree that delivery can start immediately and to acknowledge that you lose this right once the download or delivery starts. Our refund policy explains when we refund after that.

6. Software licence (EULA)

When you buy a tool, we grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use it on the MetaTrader account numbers registered to your licence: one account for a Single licence, up to three for a Multi licence. The licence lasts for the version you bought and includes updates to that version.

You may not: share, sell, sublicense or upload the files; try to decompile, reverse-engineer or remove the licence check; or use the tool on accounts not registered to your licence. Source code is not included with ready-made tools. Breaking these terms ends your licence.

The tools are provided for use on supported MetaTrader 4 and 5 builds. We take care to test them, but we do not promise they are error-free or that they will work with every broker, account type or prop-firm rule set.

7. Course licence

A course is licensed to one person for their own learning. You may not share, resell, upload or publish any part of it without our written permission.

8. Custom and white-label work

Custom and white-label projects follow the written specification and terms agreed for each project, which take priority over these terms where they differ. Ownership of source code passes to you only where a "with source" price was agreed and paid.

9. Education and tools only

Everything we provide is general education and software. It is not financial, investment, tax or legal advice, a recommendation, or a trade signal, and it does not take your circumstances into account. Trading carries a high risk of loss. Read the risk warning.

10. Our responsibility to you

We are responsible for loss or damage you suffer that is a foreseeable result of our breaking these terms or failing to use reasonable care and skill. We are not responsible for trading losses, missed trades, or decisions you make using our tools or education, including losses caused by broker conditions, connection failures, platform updates or market gaps. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, fraud, or your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015.

11. Changes and law

We may update these terms. The version in force when you buy applies to your purchase. These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales; if you live elsewhere in the UK you may also bring proceedings in your home courts.
